The one time I

was back in early 2025, when I was waiting for the results of my first big job interview at a digital marketing agency. To tell you a little bit about what I waited for, it was the email or call confirming whether I'd – my dream entry-level role after graduating. As for where I waited, I was sitting at home, on the living room couch with my laptop open, phone glued to my hand, refreshing my email inbox every 30 minutes while pretending to watch some random YouTube video to distract myself.

Why it was so special is because this wasn't just any job; It was

since high school: working with creative people, writing campaigns, maybe even traveling for shoots one day. Getting it would mean , . It felt like the moment everything could shift from student life to actual adulthood.

While I was waiting, honestly, I felt this

: excited butterflies in my stomach one minute, then pure dread the next, imagining all the ways I might've messed up the interview or that they'd pick someone more experienced. My leg was bouncing non-stop, I kept biting my nails (a habit I thought I'd kicked), and every time my phone buzzed with a notification, only to sink again when it was just a spam email or a friend messaging. Time crawled so slowly it was almost painful, you know – those last 30 minutes before 5 felt like hours. But mixed in with the anxiety was ; I kept , telling myself I'd given it my best shot. When the email finally came through saying I'd got the job, I actually shouted out loud as the relief and joy !
