The one time that really stands out for me was about a year and a half ago, back in late 2024, when a close colleague of mine named Huy said sorry in a way that actually meant something. To tell you a little bit about who he is, Huy and I worked together on the same creative team at a small digital marketing agency in District 1. He's the quiet, super talented video editor type, always reliable but not the most talkative guy, so when he does open up, you know it's genuine.

As for the reason why he apologized, during an important meeting with a prominent client, the final video file that he was responsible for

. It turned out that he’d with a test render and hadn’t backed it up properly. The client was visibly disappointed and although we salvaged it with an older draft, the whole team . Later that afternoon, Huy , looked me straight in the eye, and apologized sincerely – not just a quick “sorry about that,” but he , that he knew I’d put in extra hours to help him, and that he felt awful for letting the team – especially me – down like that.

Now to tell you how I felt about it, honestly, I was really touched and relieved more than anything! You know, in a high-stress job like that, people sometimes brush things off or make excuses, but his apology was so straightforward and humble that it immediately

. It made me respect him even more because isn’t easy, especially when you’re already beating yourself up about it. I told him it was okay, that these things happen when we’re , and honestly, it actually after that – we started double-checking files together and even joked about it later.
