Overall, Luxembourg had the highest starting, and maximum salary. Furthermore, teachers in Denmark and Australia were able to reach the maximum salary in a significantly shorter period compared to the other countries.

In terms of starting salaries and annual salaries, in 2009, Luxembourg offered best , with respective figures being 80,000 and 112,000 dollars, respectively. Denmark's was 47,000 dollars for its teachers, with its yearly salary standing at 54,000 dollars. Australia, Korea, and Japan had lower pay, with salaries ranging from 28,000 to 34,600 dollars, and the salary they earned varied between 48,000 and 54,600 dollars.

With regard to the highest salary and years taken to achieve it, Luxembourg had the highest maximum salary at 138,000 dollars but required 30 years to reach this amount. Meanwhile, Korea and Japan in turn took 37 and 34 years to reach 84,500 and 62,400 dollars, respectively.
