The table compares the ages at which males and females in six different countries decided to retire in 2003.

Overall, is that Korea the highest retirement ages for both genders while France had the lowest. In addition, across all countries, males work longer than females before retiring.

Regarding countries with the highest retirement age, Korea led the chart, with men retiring at 68 years and 8 months, approximately 1 and a half year later than females. Japan and Italy , as the retirement age of males stood at 67 years and 4 months, that of females by 7 months.

Australia and the United States, the figures , from 63 years to 65.5 years. Finally, French men usually retired at the age of 57 years and 4 months whereas their female counterparts did so at 56 years and 9 months.
