You will hear the chair of a local council committee describing recent changes to a public park.
First, you have some time to look at questions 11 to 16.
Now listen carefully and answer questions 11 to 16.
As chair of the council committee responsible for public spaces, I want to explain the latest improvements at Croft Valley Park.
Please look at the plan you were given.
The overall layout is familiar.
There are entrances at the north and south with the lake occupying the centre.
The cafe remains where it has always been.
It faces the water and stands immediately beside the old museum.
The toilets are less conveniently placed.
We intend to move them towards the middle of the grounds because at present they are in the far north eastern corner close to the adventure playground.
The formal gardens have been planted again and should look their best within the next couple of months.
Previously they were behind the old museum.
Their new site is near the south entrance in the strip between the park boundary and the path running north past the lake towards the museum.
Another new feature is an outdoor gym that both adults and children can use.
It is beside the glass houses on the eastern side of the path leading in from the south gate.
The equipment is among the trees so it is easy to miss.
The skateboard ramp has also been a real success and is especially busy after school and during holidays.
You will find it near the old museum at the end of the short western branch that leaves the main path between the lake and the museum.
We have also created a wildflower area to encourage bees and butterflies.
It lies on the curve of the path along the lake's eastern side, a little south of the adventure playground.
Before you hear the rest of the talk, you have some time to look at questions 17 to 20.
Now listen and answer questions 17 to 20.
I will now give you some more detail about two of the park's facilities.
The adventure playground is one of our most exciting additions.
We realised there was nowhere suitable for children to use their energy so the available budget was used to build a completely new play area in a large section at the northern end of the park.
It stays open throughout the year, although closing time is earlier in winter and nobody has to pay to enter.
Children of every age may choose any activity but an adult must remain with them.
Seating is provided so parents can supervise while taking a rest.
Finally, I should mention the glass houses.
Considerable work was needed after a serious fire destroyed much of their western side, more than £80,000 paid for replacement glass, metal supports and plants.
However, the tropical palm collection was too costly to restore and is still missing.
The buildings currently open from 10 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon, Monday through Thursday, and we hope weekend opening will begin soon.
Many local people supported the restoration by giving either money or their time.
That is the end of part two.
You now have one minute to check your answers to part two.
