First, you have some time to look at questions 1 to 4.
...:
Now listen carefully and answer questions 1 to 4.
DR. JACKSON:
Good afternoon.
DR. JACKSON:
Take a seat.
ANU:
Oh, thank you, Dr Jackson.
DR. JACKSON:
How can I help you?
ANU:
I'm feeling a bit unwell these days.
ANU:
I hope you can give me some advice.
DR. JACKSON:
OK, could we start off with some basic details so that I can fill in the patient form?
ANU:
Sure.
DR. JACKSON:
First of all, what's your full name, please?
ANU:
It's Anu Atkinson.
DR. JACKSON:
Could you spell your family name?
ANU:
A-T-K-I-N-S-O-N, Atkinson.
DR. JACKSON:
Do you know your postcode?
ANU:
Yes, I think it's E-L-2-14-F-B.
ANU:
Hmm, let me check.
ANU:
Oh sorry, it's actually E-L-14-2-B-F.
DR. JACKSON:
Thanks.
DR. JACKSON:
And where are you living now?
ANU:
At the moment I'm living with my parents on Queens Avenue.
DR. JACKSON:
OK, got that.
DR. JACKSON:
And your date of birth?
ANU:
October 1st, 1986.
DR. JACKSON:
Oh, what a coincidence.
DR. JACKSON:
It's my birthday too, but I was born in 1984.
DR. JACKSON:
Do you have a telephone number that I can contact you with?
ANU:
Yes, it's 875 934, but I'm out and about a lot in the afternoon and evening.
DR. JACKSON:
So, would the best time to ring you be in the morning?
ANU:
Yes.
DR. JACKSON:
Fine, got that.
...:
Before you hear the rest of the conversation, you have some time to look at questions 5 to 10.
...:
Now listen carefully and answer questions 5 to 10.
DR. JACKSON:
Now, what exactly brings you here?
ANU:
Well, my eyes seem to have some problems whenever I spend more than half an hour reading books or working on the computer.
DR. JACKSON:
Hmm, I see.
DR. JACKSON:
Is this a new problem or an old one?
DR. JACKSON:
I mean, has it been happening for a long time?
ANU:
No, it started just three days ago.
ANU:
Oh no, I think it was five days ago in the gym after I played badminton.
DR. JACKSON:
So, it was after you played badminton.
DR. JACKSON:
What is the symptom exactly?
ANU:
I see these flashing lights.
ANU:
I can't figure out what happened.
ANU:
Do you know what it is?
DR. JACKSON:
I didn't know that either at the moment.
DR. JACKSON:
What was the condition of the room where you played badminton?
DR. JACKSON:
Was it very dark?
ANU:
Oh, it was very bright.
ANU:
Sometimes I couldn't even open my eyes.
ANU:
Since then I haven't been able to see things clearly.
DR. JACKSON:
Oh, that might be the reason.
DR. JACKSON:
And have you ever been treated before for anything like dizziness?
ANU:
Well, I went into Central Hospital last month because of severe headache and they kept me in for observation for a couple of days but they couldn't find anything wrong.
DR. JACKSON:
OK, I'll make a note of that too.
ANU:
Thank you.
DR. JACKSON:
I think I've got all the information I need right now and there are two suggestions for you.
DR. JACKSON:
One is that you should take a good rest.
DR. JACKSON:
If you find yourself looking at a screen for too long, you should look away, focus on a point in the distance for approximately 10 to 20 seconds and then focus on something closer to you.
DR. JACKSON:
Repeating this a few times should keep your eyes from getting tired.
ANU:
Thanks.
ANU:
And what about the second one?
DR. JACKSON:
I'll give you some eye drops.
DR. JACKSON:
You can use it before bed.
DR. JACKSON:
That should reduce levels of eye strain.
DR. JACKSON:
Here's the prescription.
DR. JACKSON:
If the situation doesn't improve in a week, come back and see me again.
ANU:
I see.
ANU:
Thank you for your advice.
ANU:
I will give it a try.
ANU:
Goodbye.
DR. JACKSON:
Bye.
...:
That is the end of part one.
...:
You now have one minute to check your answers to part one.

🔥 Answer key (đáp án và giải thích)

1
Atkinson

  • Bắt đầu từ đoạn hội thoại "First of all, what's your full name, please?" và bệnh nhân trả lời tên đầy đủ.
