Receptionist:
Good morning, Holiday Plus Hotel, Easthaven.
Receptionist:
Can I help you?
Susan:
I just spoke to a couple of rooms online and I think I made a mistake.
Susan:
Can I change it with you?
Receptionist:
Of course you can.
Receptionist:
Could you give me your surname please?
Receptionist:
And your first name?
Receptionist:
I'll have a look for you.
Receptionist:
Can you confirm your arrival date?
Susan:
It's the 28th of June.
Receptionist:
Okay, I've found you here.
Receptionist:
So that's a family of two adults and one child leaving on the 6th of July, which is a total of seven nights.
Receptionist:
Is that correct?
Susan:
Oh no, I don't think so.
Susan:
It's eight, isn't it?
Susan:
Arriving on the Thursday and leaving the following Friday?
Receptionist:
You're quite right.
Receptionist:
Sorry, my mistake.
Receptionist:
So you said that you wanted to make changes to your booking.
Receptionist:
Is it the rooms that you wanted to change?
Susan:
If possible, yes please.
Receptionist:
Your reservation is currently for one double room and one single.
Susan:
Yes, I still need the double room, but I'd like a twin room instead of the single.
Susan:
You see, my daughter's friend's going to be joining us.
Receptionist:
Okay, let me just check availability.
Receptionist:
Yes, we can do that for you.
Receptionist:
Or alternatively, could I make a suggestion?
Receptionist:
Have you considered a family suite?
Receptionist:
I think you'd be much more comfortable than in the two rooms.
Susan:
So what do you get with the suite?
Receptionist:
You'd have the two bedrooms that you've requested as well as a living room.
Receptionist:
This would also guarantee that your rooms are together and not spread out over the hotel, and you'd get a terrace to enjoy the sun.
Susan:
I'm not sure about that to be honest.
Susan:
It sounds expensive.
Receptionist:
Actually, the suites tend to work out as better value than having two individual rooms.
Receptionist:
I'll just check to see what the charge would be to upgrade.
Receptionist:
Okay, you've paid £863 for your original booking, so it would be another £39 because the suite would be £902.
Susan:
Oh, so I'd need to pay the difference?
Receptionist:
Exactly, but you can do that on arrival at the hotel.
Receptionist:
Okay, now do any of the party have any special requirements?
Susan:
Yes, my husband is a wheelchair user, so obviously we'll have to have that with us.
Receptionist:
Of course, I'll make note of that, but the hotel is fully accessible, and staff are always available if there's anything that can be done to make your stay more comfortable.
Susan:
I appreciate that.
Susan:
Oh, and one other thing, my daughter's friend has a fish allergy.
Receptionist:
Fine, I'll make note of that, but they'll need to mention it to restaurant staff when they're here.
Susan:
Oh, one more thing.
Susan:
I entered my phone number when I made the original booking, but can I give you my husband's as well, just in case?
Receptionist:
Yes, please.
Receptionist:
Thank you very much, and we look forward to seeing you here.
