The value of studying history has long been debated, with some people claiming it offers little practical benefit, while others argue that it plays a crucial role in understanding the present. Although historical knowledge may seem irrelevant in today’s , I firmly believe that studying the past is essential for making sense of and shaping a better future.

Proponents of the view that history is an outdated discipline with may have several arguments. They may well argue that because history focuses strictly on , it feels fundamentally disconnected from the driving today's world. For example, professionals working at the cutting edge of artificial intelligence, biotechnology, or modern medicine often perceive historical data as entirely unrelated to the immediate, forward-looking problems they are trying to solve. Another reason is the utility of history due to inherent issues with . Because ancient and modern records alike are frequently marred by , , or simple incompleteness, it is incredibly difficult for modern society to extract accurate, objective lessons from them. In contrast, I would maintain that history offers how societies, cultures, and conflicts evolve over time. One important reason for this is that understanding the roots of modern issues—such as , , or —often requires knowledge of historical events. For instance, current conflicts in the Middle East or debates around colonialism and racial inequality cannot be fully understood without examining their historical origins.
