One memory that’s still in my mind is my very first day of primary school. It happened years ago, but the emotions and little details are still fresh, almost like it was yesterday.

To set the scene, it was back in 2007 when I was just six years old. The school was a small public primary school located in my hometown—a quiet, where everyone seemed to know each other. The school had colorful walls, a big playground, and classrooms that looked enormous to me at the time.

I remember feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety. I was wearing my that felt a little too and my mom held my hand all the way to the classroom. I was both curious and terrified—I didn’t know anyone, and everything felt so unfamiliar. When she finally said goodbye, I nearly cried, but I managed to and follow the teacher nervously into the classroom.

What really stuck with me was how quickly things changed once the day began. The teacher was kind, the other kids were friendly, and , I was drawing pictures and laughing with my new classmates. That —from fear to joy—made the whole experience unforgettable.

I think the reason I still remember that day so vividly is because it was the first time I truly . It marked the beginning of a new chapter in my life—learning to be independent, make friends, and adapt to a new environment. That day laid the foundation for so many things that followed.
