A time I received advice that I felt was not good for me happened a couple of years ago when I was deciding whether to . At the time, I was working in a stable job that I didn’t feel passionate about, and I was contemplating a career change to something more aligned with my personal interests. I spoke to a close family member about it, someone I respected and trusted for their life experience, hoping to get some perspective.

Their advice was to my current job because it offered financial security and stability. They emphasized that job satisfaction might come later, but financial security was the most important thing, especially in . They suggested that I should prioritize over pursuing something uncertain and potentially risky, like following my passion.

At first, I considered this advice seriously because I did understand the importance of , especially in . However, the more I thought about it, the more I realized that the advice didn’t truly align with my goals and values. While financial security is undoubtedly important, it wasn’t something I was willing to sacrifice my happiness and personal fulfillment for. I realized that staying in a job I wasn’t passionate about would only lead to frustration and dissatisfaction .

I also understood that everyone has different circumstances, and what worked for my family member might not be the best option for me. I had to listen to my own instincts and values in order to make the right decision. In the end, I chose to pursue my passion, and although it was challenging at times, it was the right choice for me.

Looking back, I’m grateful for the advice, but I’m glad I didn’t let it dictate my path. It taught me the importance of trusting my own judgment and not always when it doesn’t suit my personal needs.
